Arnold lobbies for White House run
Action star and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been
lobbying for support to change the law to allow him to run for president
in 2016...“Schwarzenegger has been talking openly about working on getting the
constitutional rules changed so he can run for president in 2016. He is
ready to file legal paperwork to challenge the rules.”
Arnie was born in Austria, and the US Constitution prevents
foreign-born citizens from holding the nation’s top job. Any amendment
to the Constitution must be approved by two-thirds majority in the House
and the Senate.But Arnold, who became a US citizen in 1983, still could mount a legal challenge. In 2010, he appeared on the ‘Tonight Show,’ and was asked by Jay Leno if he would make a White House run if the law were changed.
Schwarzenegger replied, “Without any doubt.”...If it does happen, an arm wrestle between Arnold and fellow 2016 contender Hillary Clinton would be a spectacle, although our bets are on Hillary.

Gov. Jerry Brown, issuing an
ominous appeal on climate change, said Tuesday that the world may already have
“gone over the edge” on global warming and that humanity must reverse course or
face extinction.
As momentum builds for what
climate change advocacy groups are billing as the most important U.N.
mega-conference on the subject ever, religious leaders, artists and scholars
met in the French capital Tuesday to discuss climate change “from a spiritual
perspective.”
Among those participating in
the one-day “Summit of Conscience for the Climate” were former California Gov.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, Irish
President Michael Higgins, Catholic Cardinal Peter Turkson of the Vatican’s
Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, and Greek Orthodox Patriarch
Bartholomew I.
“I’ve starred, of course, in a lot of
science-fiction movies as you know, and let me tell you something, climate
change is not science-fiction,” Schwarzenegger said in a recorded message for
the meeting. “This is a battle in the real world. It is impacting us right
now.”
Citing statistics on carbon
emissions, air pollution, flooding, storms, drought and wildfires, he added,
“This is bigger than any movie. This is the challenge of our time.”
